Aspiring Adventure & Conservation

10th September 2015

DSC_0479Students spent a week adventuring in the Makarora valley, on the doorstep of Aspiring National Park in July. The year 7 & 8 camp, run in partnership with Scripture Union, provided nine students with a week of near perfect winter weather allowing the intrepid group to be involved in a range of activities including bird-spotting, checking predator traps, and sliding down icy slopes!

After a day of winter fun, young people returned to their A Rocha base to enjoy the warmth of the fire and hearty food.  They also spent time reading the Bible and reflecting on the wonders of all they had experienced and on the Creator who made the world for us to enjoy and care for.

We believe that people are transformed to care for creation by experiencing the wonder of creation up-close and through the opportunity to be involved in practical conservation. Click here for more detail about our new venture with Scripture Union – E3 Wilderness Expeditions.
