Kia ora! I grew up in Kirikiriroa Hamilton and have gone between there and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland during my time in Aotearoa (I also had a brief stint in the UK). Now my little whānau live in West Auckland. I am a trained Baptist pastor and I love the church, the beautiful vision of God’s people uniting together for his mission in the world. I believe creation care is part of our individual and corporate mission as God’s people and should be part of our churches kaupapa. I am passionate about minimising waste and our carbon footprint to preserve this beautiful place we call home. My background is in the medical sciences, particularly brain-wave monitoring in anaesthesia and obstetric vital sign monitoring. I’m interested in the intersection of faith and science, such as in eco-theology, and have written on engaging Moral Foundations Theory to understand Tall Poppy Syndrome, and how Praise Psychology can help us know how to affirm each other in the church. I enjoy being outside and you’ll often find me walking, running, swimming, or biking, enjoying God’s creation.
